Newry-based teamwear company, PLAYR-FIT, is excited to announce Southern Area Hospice as its new charity partner for the next three years. As part of this collaboration, all major fundraising activities will benefit the Hospice, continuing the company's commitment to supporting local causes.
This announcement follows a successful three-year partnership with PIPS Hope and Support, which raised over £15,500 for the charity.
At PLAYR-FIT, fundraising is seen as a way to unite the community and create a lasting impact on the lives of local people. The company has previously worked with Southern Area Hospice on projects like providing bespoke jerseys for the Newry City vs. Liverpool Legends match.

Kieran Quinn, speaking about the new partnership, said, “The Hospice does incredible work, and we’re proud to support another outstanding local charity. The Business 5s tournament is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and it has always been a huge success—raising money, raising awareness, and creating a great atmosphere for everyone involved. All proceeds from this event will go directly to Southern Area Hospice. We have more events planned throughout the year and are eager to provide as much support as we can.”
Damien Hillen, Director of Development at Southern Area Hospice said, “At Southern Area Hospice, it costs approximately £6 million each year to provide the highest standard of specialist care for our patients and their families. This year, we must raise £3.6 million through fundraising alone to keep our essential services running. We are incredibly thankful to the team at PLAYR-FIT, whose generosity allows us to continue offering care, comfort, and dignity to those who need it most. The Business 5-a-side tournament is always a popular, well-organised, and enjoyable event, and everyone taking part is making a real difference. Your support is helping us to continue delivering our vital services”.
